Passenger traffic of Kazakhstan Airlines decreased by 34

According to Kazakhstan’s capital network on July 3, citing energyprom.kz. website data, from January to May 2020, Kazakhstan Airlines’ total passenger traffic was 1.9 million, a year-on-year decrease of 34.3%. Among them, the passenger traffic in May was 165,100 passengers, an increase of 30 times from the previous month. The passenger turnover was 3.4 billion person kilometers. Among them, the passenger turnover in May was 224.7 million person-km, an increase of 10.7 times from the previous month.
From January to May 2020, Kazakhstan’s total cargo volume was 7,700 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 23.9%. Among them, the freight volume in May was 1,600 tons, an increase of 1.6 times from the previous month. The freight turnover was 21.3 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 43.1%. Among them, the freight turnover in May was 5.4 million tons kilometers, an increase of 1.1 times from the previous month.
From January to May 2020, Kazakhstan Airlines achieved operating revenues of 81.1 billion tenge, a year-on-year decrease of 39.7%. Among them, freight revenue accounted for 96.3%, and passenger revenue accounted for only 3.7%. In May, Kazakhstan Airlines achieved operating income of 9.8 billion tenge, a five-fold increase from the previous month.
At present, Kazakhstan Airlines has sold tickets from Nur-Sultan, Almaty to Dubai, Tashkent, Baku, Moscow and other places. The airline reminded passengers that the booked tickets cannot be fully guaranteed to be used on schedule, and the flight plan may be affected by Kazakhstan's recent re-isolation restrictions.
