How to solve the sudden restriction of Amazon
Amazon’s peak season is here, and many novice sellers decide to stock up more goods in Amazon FBA warehouses in order to guarantee delivery after the increase in orders. As a result, the storage is restricted due to slow sales. This occurs when they are preparing to make a lot of money. Moth, it's really troublesome!
What is the storage limit?
Warehousing limit is the total amount of inventory that the seller can store in the Amazon logistics center. Amazon will automatically evaluate the warehousing limit on a regular basis every month to determine whether the seller’s warehousing should be adjusted.
When calculating the seller's current inventory level, Amazon often considers the following factors: the seller's inventory in the Amazon logistics center, the inventory that has been shipped and will be put into the warehouse, and any removal requests for the processed inventory.
How do I know that my storage is restricted?
If storage is restricted, a storage monitor will be displayed in multiple locations of your seller account (including on your 'Shipping Queue' shipping management page), as shown below:
(Note: If you are not limited to storage restrictions, the storage monitor will not be displayed)
In addition, the green, yellow and red horizontal indicators will also remind you how far you are from your maximum inventory limit: three colors, three states
Green: Your inventory level is below 75% of the limit
Yellow: Your inventory level is between 75% and 95% of the limit
Red: Your inventory level is at 90% of the limit
When you reach the inventory storage limit, you will receive a notification in the seller's account and email.
What should I do if the stock limit is exceeded?
If you send more inventory than the FBA storage limit allows, the extra inventory may be rejected by the logistics center. Here are three ways to reduce FBA inventory:
1. Sell some of your current inventory.
2. Request FBA to return part of your inventory to you by creating an inventory removal order (removal order).
3. By creating an inventory removal request, request FBA to dispose of part of your inventory.
After you perform the above operations, the monitor line will not be updated immediately, but will usually be processed until the next day.
So how do we solve the restrictions?
1. Contact customer service to increase the limit
Amazon will review storage restrictions every month. If you can sell 8% or more of your inventory every week in the past 9 weeks, you are eligible for a lift. Sellers can also contact Amazon SellerSupport to request a position increase.
Note: Amazon will make a decision based on specific circumstances. Factors such as the current inventory turnover rate and inventory type are also factors that affect the decision.
2, predict the conditions for raising the limit
Before raising the limit, it is best to know the conditions for raising the limit. The following is the answer from Amazon's investment manager, regarding some conditions for Amazon FBA to increase positions:
1. The time of using FBA is ≥6 weeks, if not, at least 4 weeks should be used;
2. Sold out rate (sold out rate) in the past 6 weeks = weekly sales / weekly inventory (required is ≥8% per week, inventory can be asked about the seller's delivery quantity and arrival time, also You can view the seller's platform inventory report);
3, WOC=week of coverage= current inventory level / average weekly sales volume in the past 4 weeks, this indicator mainly depends on your inventory can be maintained for a few weeks before it will be consumed.
