by:VIPUTRANS     2021-03-12
Choose international shipping logistics, according to the size of the items you want to consign, choose full container shipping or combined container shipping. It is unavoidable to use containers for shipping. At this time, we need to understand how the cost of the container is calculated in order to let our logistics Travel with peace of mind, and avoid extra costs caused by being deceived. So how do you calculate the cost of container transportation by sea? What are the restrictions on the types of goods? VIPU Supply Chain international logistics organizes container shipping billing strategies. 1. Freight of LCL cargo At present, the calculation of LCL freight fee under container transportation mode by shipping companies is basically based on the calculation standard of cargo freight, but the following basic points should be mastered: (1) Shipping company or others The carrier’s calculation of the LCL freight charge is based on its responsibilities and expenses. Since the freight station is responsible for the packing and unpacking of LCL cargo, the freight station should be owned or managed by the carrier, and the carrier’s responsibility is from the freight station in the exporting country to the freight station in the importing country. All the expenses and related responsibilities incurred after the goods are delivered shall be borne by the owner. (2) The method of calculating and collecting the ocean freight of LCL cargo is similar to the method of calculating and collecting the freight fee of the cargo in the case of liner transportation, except for the additional container-related fees, such as the service fee of LCL, but the terminal will no longer charge the general cargo. Receiving costs. The calculation basis for these freight and related expenses is the weight or size of each piece of cargo specified in the freight book set by the shipping company. However, the LCL service fee for denominated goods is charged according to the weight or size of the goods, whichever is higher. (3) The minimum freight for LCL fee is calculated and collected per bill of lading. (4) Since LCL cargo involves different consignees, LCL cargo cannot accept the requirements of the cargo owner regarding port selection or change of destination port. Therefore, there is no port selection surcharge for LCL cargo and change of destination port. Additional fee. 2. Freight for FCL (1) In the case of FCL transportation, the scope of responsibility of the carrier for receiving and delivering the container is customarily from the dock yard to the dock yard. Therefore, the freight and related fees charged by the carrier It also only includes the cost from the storage yard to the storage yard, and the cost outside the yard at both ends is borne by the cargo owner. (2) The calculation of FCL freight. If the box used is owned by the shipping company, there are provisions for the calculation and collection of the highest and lowest freight; if the box is owned by the owner, there are separate regulations. 3. Surcharges for overweight, overlong and oversized cargo (1) There is no surcharge for overweight, overlong, and oversized cargo for FCL. (2) LCL cargo shall be subject to surcharges for overweight, overlong and oversized cargo in accordance with the provisions of the freight rate. (3) If it is FCL cargo receiving, LCL cargo delivery, or LCL cargo receiving, FCL delivery, according to the provisions of the tariff book, a 50% surcharge will be imposed on overweight, oversized, and oversized cargo . 4. The freight of the group cargo in the container (1) For the group cargo that meets the regulations and requirements of the freight rate book and is consigned as LCL cargo, it can be treated in the same way as the bulk cargo, and the freight will be discounted. Groups of cargo consigned as FCL cannot enjoy preferential freight rates. (2) Regardless of whether the goods are shipped by LCL or FCL, the weight or size of the pallet should be deducted when calculating the freight, but this deduction shall not exceed the weight or size of the group of goods (cargo plus pallet) 10%, the excess part will still be charged at the rate specified for the goods on the pallet. However, some airlines customarily do not deduct the weight or size of the pallet of the whole container when calculating the freight. 5. What are the restrictions on the types of goods transported by using containers? According to the national 'Regulations on the Development of my country's Container TransportWhich goods cannot be transported by sea in containers? (1) Fresh goods. For example, live fish, shrimp, etc., because sea transportation takes longer time than other transportation methods. If fresh and live goods are shipped by sea in containers, the goods will deteriorate during transportation. (2) If the weight of the cargo exceeds the maximum load-bearing weight of the container, this kind of cargo cannot be shipped through the container. (3) Large-size cargo cannot be shipped by container. Some large accessories are ultra-high and ultra-wide. These cargoes can only be transported by bulk carriers in the cabin or on the deck. (4) The container does not handle military transportation. If the army or military-industrial enterprise handles container shipping by sea, it shall be handled as commercial transportation. If self-provided containers are used for military transportation, it will no longer be handled according to the container transportation conditions. 6. Selection of container type. In container cargo transportation, for the safety of ships, cargo, and containers, appropriate containers must be selected according to the nature, type, volume, weight and shape of the cargo; otherwise, not only certain cargo cannot be carried, And it will cause cargo damage due to improper selection. The selection of container for container cargo can be considered as follows: (1) Clean cargo and dirty cargo: general cargo container, ventilated container, open top container, refrigerated container can be selected; (2) Valuable cargo and fragile cargo: general cargo container can be selected; (3) Refrigerated goods and perishable goods: refrigerated containers, ventilated containers, and insulated containers can be selected; (4) Bulk cargo: bulk containers and tank containers can be selected; (5) Animals and plants: select livestock (animals) Containers, ventilated containers; (6) Heavy cargo: choose open-top container, frame container, platform container; (7) Dangerous cargo: choose general cargo container, frame container, refrigerated container.
