China and Russia Export Transportation

President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China paid a state visit to the Russian Federation from March 20 to 22, 2023, with the conclusion of the meeting between the heads of state of China and Russia.

The economic cooperation between China and Russia will become closer. In the future, the two countries will have more cooperation projects in expanding trade scale, optimizing trade structure, and vigorously developing interconnected logistics systems.

The current Sino-Russian logistics system is still dominated by traditional maritime transport, China-Russia trains and railways, and sea-rail combined transport, supplemented by air transport and automobile transport.

Due to the current world situation,, shipping in the direction of the Black Sea has basically stopped; shipping freight in the Baltic Sea with St. Petersburg as the destination port is high .

There are an increasing number of sea-rail combined transport solutions from Qingdao, Lianyungang, Taicang, Ningbo to Vladivostok and Vostochny Port in China, and rail transit to Moscow, Novosibirsk, and St. Petersburg.

It has become the new favorite of many foreign trade companies for Sino-Russian transportation.

The following is an introduction to some commonly used transportation routes:

1.Road transportation lines

The China-Russia land transportation line mainly involves road transportation through Heilongjiang Province in China and the Russian Far East.

The advantage of this route is that the transit time is relatively short and goods can be quickly transported from China to Russia.

However, due to factors such as weather, road conditions and the distance from Moscow, this route may be affected to a certain extent in winter and the transportation time will be longer.

Truck transportation is widely used for short-distance transportation between the Northeast and the Far East.

However, in recent years, as China and Russia export more and more goods, when rail and sea shipping spaces are tight, many goods also choose to be transported by truck.

In addition to direct truck transportation between China and Russia, there are also more and more truck transportation via Mongolia and Kazakhstan.

In particular, Xinjiang has the most direct truck transportation to Russia via the Horgos Port. The main reason is that Xinjiang is relatively close to the economically developed and populous European part of Russia, and the roads along the way are in good condition.

Mainland customers who need transportation timeliness can choose this route.

In addition, due to the many restrictions on railway transportation, goods that cannot be transported by sea and railway: large mechanical equipment, lithium battery products, liquid chemicals, dangerous goods and other categories of goods can be transported by truck.

With its advantages of convenience, speed and less restrictions, automobile transportation occupies an important position in Sino-Russian trade.

The main automobile ports between China and Russia are:

1. Manzhouli City in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region - Zabaikalsk District, Zabaikalsk District, Zabaikal Krai;

2. Manzhouli City, Erka - Zabaikalsk District, Zabaikalsk Territory, and Abachai, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Figure

3 Jixiang and Hulin, Hulin County, Heilongjiang Province - Lesozavodsk District, Primorsky Krai, Markovo;

4 Suifenhe City, Suifenhe, Heilongjiang Province - Pogranicny District, Primorsky Krai, Pograny Qinei

5 Changlingzi Village, Hunchun, Jilin Province - Hassan District, Primorsky Krai, Kraskino;

6 Heihe City, Heilongjiang Province, Heihe - Blagoveshchensk (Temple Street), Amur Region

7 Heilongjiang Province Tongjiang City Tongjiang - the following Ningskoye boundary river and so on.

2. Railway transportation lines

The advantages of railway transportation are:

1. Fast running speed, generally between 80 and 120 kilometers per hour;

2. Large transportation capacity, each train can load 40-60 40HQ containers;

3. Less restricted by natural conditions and strong continuity, It can guarantee year-round operation;

4. It has good general performance and can handle various types of goods;

5. It has high accuracy of arrival and departure time; its operation is relatively stable, safe and reliable.

6. Compared with air transportation and truck transportation, railway transportation has lower cost and energy consumption, and is suitable for long-distance transportation of large and heavy goods.

7. Good regular transportation, guaranteed transportation timeliness, and usually not affected by climatic conditions; 8. Small footprint. It is little affected by the natural environment and has good continuity.

Due to the various advantages of railway transportation, China's first China-Europe freight train - "Yuxinou" departed from Chongqing on March 19, 2011, creating a history of China-Europe freight trains.

Subsequently, the China-Russia freight train also matured step by step on the steel camel team. China-Europe trains are container international railway trains that travel between China and Europe and countries along the Belt and Road.

China-Europe freight train operation lines have been laid out in the West and Middle East: the western channel runs from central and western my country through Alashankou (Khorgos), the middle channel runs from North my country through Erenhot in Inner Mongolia, and the eastern channel runs from Northeast China through Manzhouli. (Suifenhe) exit.

All three corridors pass through Russian regions. On April 16, 2022, the "China-Europe trains" in Henan were unified named "Zhongyu", and multiple trains were launched at the same time, marking a further step in the expansion and improvement of the quality of China-Europe trains, and the construction of the Overland Silk Road in Henan Towards new milestones.

With the maturity of China-Russia trains, more and more goods such as international mail, cross-border e-commerce parcels, non-ferrous metal materials, mechanical equipment, and white household appliances are exported to Russia by rail transportation.

The China State Railway Group cooperates with the railway systems of Central Asia, Russia and European countries. From Chongqing to Duisburg in Germany, it has developed to hundreds of cities in China and more than 160 cities in Eurasian countries abroad,

forming a It has five exit ports, Alashankou, Horgos, Erenhot, Manzhouli and Suifenhe, and five assembly centers in Chongqing, Chengdu, Xi'an, Zhengzhou and Urumqi.

Provide new high-quality international logistics channels for foreign trade companies and ensure the stability of Sino-Russian trade and supply chains.

Under the pressure of increasing cargo volume, due to the imperfect infrastructure of border exit ports and foreign supporting facilities, the cargo transit capacity has reached the upper limit and has become overwhelmed.

Shipping efficiency is also decreasing day by day. At the same time, due to the many restrictions on railway containers themselves, overweight goods, large equipment, chemical products, and battery products cannot be transported by railway.

The increasingly tight railway space cannot meet all cargo shipping needs, and can only be transported by sea and automobile. Supplement by transportation and other means.
