The port professional company has tested it and there is no problem with the box; the weather is sunny during transportation, dry and not humid; the goods are strictly inspected when they are packed and do not contain moisture. Why is it that when the goods arrive at the port of destination, the container walls are full of water drops, the packaging is wet, the goods are rusted, and who is responsible for the heavy losses?
The water in the container depends on the weather conditions, the length of the sea voyage, the packaging materials of the goods, the condition of the container, and the sensitivity of the goods. Fungi, mildew, and mildew can cause damage to goods when the relative humidity exceeds 55%.

1. Bring the goods
Moisture or moisture is brought into the container along with the cargo. For example, if a container contains 5 tons of furniture, the furniture itself will contain about 8% to 25% humidity, depending on the type of wood and the degree of drying of the furniture. This corresponds to approximately 400-1250 liters of water. Some of the moisture here will be dissipated into the air in the container and become an important source of container moisture condensation.
2. The cabinet is condensed
In the process of ocean transportation or storage of containers, the containers will often experience high temperature climate and strong day and night temperature changes. The temperature change will be 0-8 degrees Celsius and the humidity will be as high as 98%. This is the phenomenon of condensation. When the temperature is 30 degrees Celsius , The water content in the air is 30.4g per square meter. When the temperature drops from 30 degrees Celsius to 18 degrees Celsius, water vapor will condense into water droplets. If it is a 40-foot container, 1,000 grams of condensed water will be produced, which will cause 'container rain'.
3. Sea water immersion
I often float on the sea, how can I not wet the tank? If you encounter strong winds and waves, if the tank has a small damage, if you are on the deck, or encounter a marine accident and fall into the sea, you will not run into the sea or wet. Not much to say about this.
4. Fresh water immersion
If the top or side panels, front panels, door panels, door rubber strips, etc. of the box are damaged, water may enter when it rains or snows, or the ship’s fresh water pipe ruptures. In recent days, typhoons have been intensive, and there have been violent storms from north to south, and water ingress should be prevented when shipping.
Insurance correspondence
Fresh water rain insurance: One of the general additional insurances, responsible for the compensation for losses caused by fresh water (including drinking water on board, water pipe leakage, dripping from the poles of the ship, etc.), rain water and snow-soluble water.
Damp and Heat Risk: Compensation for losses caused by condensation, dampness or heat in the cabin due to sudden changes in temperature during transportation of the insured cargo or failure of the onboard ventilation equipment.
Water pollution insurance: It has become a separate marine damage insurance. It is one of the basic insurances for seaborne cargo. It is only responsible for the loss caused by salt water, not the compensation for the loss caused by fresh water.
Precaution
1. Moisture and water damage can be prevented.
2. Check whether the container is sealed and dry before packing;
3. Confirm whether the goods and the loading environment are dry;
4. Strengthen the waterproof packaging of goods;
5. Place desiccant reasonably in the box;
6. Visually track goods throughout the process.
7. All links of cargo transportation need to be controlled in real time, and the whole process should be visualized as much as possible, and various documents should be kept in order to provide evidence in case of emergency.
