Flextronics Global Services Poland has successfully achieved the next step in its development. It has obtained its certification in management systems, employees' safety, security and environmental protection.
The company's high standards have been corroborated by certification in ISO 9001:2005, ISO14000:2005 and OHSAS 18001:2007, as well as ISO 28000: 2007 specifying the requirements connected withsupply chain management .Flextronics Global Services is the only company in the Polish market with these certifications, and one of the first companies world wide.
Flextronics Global Services established it's Lodz, Poland facility just one year ago. Since the beginning, one of its main priorities has been to maintain the highest possible security and standard of services by placing a huge emphasis on every aspect of the business. According to Zbigniew Kope?, Flextronics Lodz Quality and Process Manager 'We have been developing our standards now for twelve months and this has resulted in the certification of very high ISO level certification'.
The company management team stresses the importance of quality control, security and occupational health and safety. It was obvious that confirmation of these standards by professional certification was just a matter of time. Through the implementation of ISO standardisation, the company has affirmed the existence of sophisticated and highly developed quality standards in line with certification requirements. A key motivator in this process has been the company's focus on development, greater efficiency and continuous improvement. The acquisition of these quality standards will enable us to be more attractive to new and existing customers, and this will serve as a key differentiator amongst our competitors.
ISO 28000: 2007
The certification of ISO 28000:2007 is a huge achievement for the Lodz site, given that it is the first site to achieve this in Poland. It is an international standard of supply chain security management. The standard requirement specifies methods of creating process management systems in organisations cooperating within the supply chain. The structure of the system has been modelled on the basis of ISO 28000/PAS 28000:2007, which helps minimise security risk, potential incidents and manages potential security threats and impacts from the supply chain.
The framework of the system is based on the risk assessment
of various process elements (financial, production, information flow, etc.). The ISO/PAS 28000 management system was originally developed specifically for Global Services companies that manage supply chain operations. However, the standard is suitable to all sizes and types of organisations that are involved in purchasing, manufacturing, service, storage, transportation and sales. It is a key requirement for companies that require proper security management systems for their supply chain in order to meet customers' needs and assure effectiveness.
