In 2026, trade between China and Russia continues to strengthen, with an increasing number of Russian enterprises importing high-quality Chinese products to meet the demands of their domestic market. However, the challenge of how to make payments to Chinese suppliers—safely, quickly, and conveniently—remains a persistent dilemma that every importer must inevitably confront.
Failure to properly manage payments to suppliers exposes you to the following risks:
Substantial third-party processing fees
Account freezes and fund interception
Protracted bank settlement processes
Exchange rate risks
Delayed receipt of funds, leading to delayed shipments from suppliers and missed peak sales opportunities
Therefore, selecting a professional provider of supplier payment services is of paramount importance.
Supplier payment services constitute a comprehensive suite of foreign trade solutions wherein a service provider, acting on behalf of a buyer, facilitates the payment of goods to suppliers located within China.
Furthermore, providers of such services typically possess the capability to deliver end-to-end, one-stop logistics solutions spanning the entire route from China to Russia. This encompasses a comprehensive range of services, including domestic pickup and warehousing, Chinese export customs declarations, customs clearance and tax payments, and final delivery to designated locations within Russia.
International Sanctions: Major Russian banks have been excluded from the SWIFT system; consequently, many Chinese and international banks are refusing to process incoming remittances from Russia in order to mitigate legal risks. The few banks that do continue to support such transactions impose strict limits on transfer amounts.
Currency Restrictions: The vast majority of Chinese suppliers accept settlement only in RMB. Given the limited payment channels available to Russia and the low prevalence of RMB holdings within the country, facilitating such settlements remains a challenge.
Cumbersome Procedures and Exchange Rate Volatility: Traditional bank settlement cycles can span several weeks—or even up to a month—exposing businesses to potential exchange rate losses, while the associated bank processing fees are also substantial.
Logistics Integration: Payment agency service providers typically offer a comprehensive, one-stop logistics solution covering procurement, payment, and transportation from China to Russia. This allows businesses to streamline operations by interfacing with a single logistics partner.
Third-Party Guarantee: Agents operate in accordance with domestic platform trading regulations, ensuring that final payments are released to suppliers only after verifying that goods have been genuinely shipped and received in good condition, thereby preventing instances of fraudulent shipping or the delivery of defective merchandise.
Streamlined Payment Process: Payment agents possess expertise in the rules and channels governing cross-border transactions between China and Russia, enabling them to rapidly process settlements in Rubles, RMB, and USD. This ensures swift and efficient payment execution.
Mitigated Payment Risk: Payment agents hold the necessary regulatory credentials to assist you in verifying supplier identities and the legitimacy of their receiving accounts, thereby ensuring that the entire payment process remains fully compliant with applicable regulations.
Optimized Exchange Rates and Costs: Agents offer more favorable exchange rates and access to multi-currency settlement channels. You can consolidate your payments into a single transfer to the agent, who will then disburse the funds individually to your various suppliers, thereby eliminating the cumulative transaction fees associated with multiple separate transfers.
Audit Compliance: Agents provide comprehensive compliance documentation to satisfy corporate requirements regarding taxation, customs clearance, and internal audits.
Enhanced Supplier Stability: By facilitating timely and secure payments to suppliers through an intermediary agent, you can significantly reduce the risk of delays caused by supplier-side issues. Throughout the entire process, you need only coordinate with a single logistics and payment agent.
VIPUTRANS is a professional freight forwarding company specializing in shipments from China to Russia. We provide comprehensive, one-stop logistics services covering the entire China-to-Russia route. Our services include sourcing, third-party payment processing (including collection via VTB Bank), free warehousing, cargo consolidation, labeling, and e-commerce shipping. We handle all necessary documentation within China, manage customs clearance and tax payments, and provide door-to-door delivery.
We can act on your behalf to purchase goods directly from your suppliers, process payments to them, and subsequently arrange for the shipment of the goods to Russia.
Our commission fee for third-party payment services is 3.5% of the total value of the goods, subject to a minimum charge of $200 USD per Bill of Lading (BL).
Due to strict current regulations regarding payment processing, the following conditions must be met. We can only assist you in making payments to your suppliers once all requirements have been satisfied and all submitted information has undergone a thorough review.
We require complete product information, including packing lists, commercial invoices, product photographs, and other relevant details.
We must issue a procurement invoice for the goods; these invoices will be used to file the export declaration under our company's name.
We are required to sign a formal contractual agreement directly with the manufacturing factory/supplier.
All payment transactions must be conducted in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
All supporting documentation must be verified and authenticated in advance.
Upon request, we can enter into a logistics contract with you.
We maintain formal, compliant sales agreements with the manufacturing factories.
We will handle all domestic Chinese documentation, including export customs declarations and related paperwork.
The packing lists and commercial invoices for the shipment will be provided with the assistance of the supplier.
We will communicate with the supplier in advance to confirm every specific detail.
Should you require the assistance of a customs broker for import clearance, our fee is approximately CNY 1,500 – 3,000 per Bill of Lading (B/L), depending on the value of the cargo and the specific booking details.
The most advisable approach is to consult a local agent in your region to assist with the import clearance process; this is generally the most efficient and expeditious method.
Fee Confirmation: The agent and the buyer confirm the total value of the goods, the agent's service fees, and shipping costs. The exchange rate is locked in.
Payment to Agent: The buyer transfers funds to the agent; for example, VIPUTRAN Freight Forwarding accepts payments from buyers via VTB Bank.
Payment to Supplier: Once the funds have been securely received, the agent pays the cost of the goods to the Chinese supplier.
Supplier Shipment: The supplier ships the goods to the freight forwarder's warehouse. The freight forwarder inspects the quality and quantity of the shipment to ensure accuracy, then settles the final balance with the supplier.
Cargo Consolidation: At the freight forwarder's warehouse, the goods are consolidated into packaging suitable for international transport. Packaging is reinforced as needed, and e-commerce shipments are labeled accordingly.
Export Customs Clearance & International Transport: The freight forwarder handles the export customs clearance in China—including the preparation of all necessary Chinese documentation—and transports the shipment to the customs clearance point in Russia.
Import Customs Clearance & Delivery: Once the goods have successfully cleared customs in compliance with regulations, they are transported to their final destination via a local courier service.
Via VTB Bank: Payments can be made through the VTB Bank Shanghai Branch—the only fully licensed Russian bank operating in China—which is capable of receiving transfers from all banks within Russia. It supports dual-currency settlement in both RMB and Rubles.
Via Border Region Banks: Payments can be processed through banks located at border crossings in regions such as Heilongjiang and Inner Mongolia (e.g., Hunchun Rural Commercial Bank).
Important Considerations:
Large-value transactions may be subject to restrictions.
Transaction fees tend to be relatively high.
Some banks accept transfers exclusively from VTB Bank.
Via Agency Platforms or Agents: Paying through an agent is the most common and efficient solution; it offers great convenience to all parties involved—whether they are large corporations, small and medium-sized Russian buyers, or e-commerce sellers.
Choosing a reliable logistics provider ensures that your goods are delivered efficiently, on time, smoothly, and securely.
Credentials and Reputation: A reputable logistics agent offering payment agency services possesses valid business licenses, tax registration certificates, import/export operation rights, and other necessary credentials; furthermore, they boast a long-standing corporate history and an excellent reputation.
One-Stop Logistics Capabilities: A professional freight forwarder provides not only procurement and payment agency services but also leverages robust logistics channels, an extensive transportation network, and substantial experience in shipping between China and Russia.
Price Transparency: A reliable logistics service provider maintains transparent pricing, ensuring there are no hidden fees.
Legitimate and reliable service providers are safe. They possess comprehensive capital regulatory systems and risk management mechanisms.
We can make payments for the cost of goods, shipping fees, and other trade-related expenses.
We support payment methods such as bank transfers, cash, and e-wallets, as well as various currencies including USD, RMB, and RUB.
