The railway cargo waybill in railway freight transport is a transport document with the nature of a transport contract between the railway and the shipper. It clearly stipulates the rights, obligations and responsibilities of both parties during the transportation of goods.

The consignor shall submit a copy of the goods waybill to the station for consigning goods. For the unloading of the whole vehicle, in addition to submitting a basic cargo waybill, each sub-unloading station shall add two unloading cargo waybills (one for each sub-discharge station and the consignee).

When the station receives the cargo waybill proposed by the consignor, it should be carefully reviewed (the whole truck should have a cargo transportation plan). After confirming that it can be carried, the station will accept the goods on the cargo waybill as the date of movement or loading.

After the station receives the goods, it begins to take care of it.

Rail freight

After loading the whole truck, the consignor shall pay the freight and miscellaneous expenses to the freight room in exchange for the receipt and the carrier certificate. (I.e. cargo ticket C). For less-than-carload goods, after receiving the goods, the consignor shall present the goods waybill to the freight room to pay the freight and miscellaneous charges in exchange for the receipt and the carrier certificate.

After the consignor pays the transportation cost, the freight room will be considered as the carrier from the time when the cargo waybill and the cargo ticket are stamped with the date of carriage.
