How to transfer goods in container transportation

In container transportation, according to the actual delivery point, there are many ways to hand over container cargo. In different handover methods, the responsibilities and obligations of the container transportation operator and the cargo party are different. The content of the transportation organization of the container transportation operator, The scope is also different.  

There are several ways to transfer container cargo:  

 1. Door to Door (Door to Door) handover method.  
Door-to-door delivery means that the transportation operator receives the goods from the consignor’s factory or warehouse and is responsible for delivering the goods to the consignee’s factory or warehouse for delivery. Under this delivery method, the delivery mode of the goods is FCL delivery.

 2. Door to CY handover method.
   This method means that the transport operator accepts the goods at the consignor’s factory or warehouse, and is responsible for transporting the goods to the unloading port’s yard or its inland yard, and delivering it to the consignee at the yard. In this way of handover, the goods are also delivered by FCL.  

 3. Door to CFS (Door to CFS) handover mode.
This method means that the transport operator accepts the goods in the shipper’s factory or warehouse, and is responsible for transporting the goods to the container freight station at the port of unloading, or the freight station in the inland area, and then receives the goods after unpacking People deliver. Under this handover method, the transportation operator generally accepts the goods in the form of FCL and delivers the goods in the form of LCL.  

 4. CY to Door transfer method. 
 The handover method means that the transport operator accepts the consignor’s goods (full container cargo) at the terminal yard or its inland yard, and is responsible for transporting the goods to the consignee’s factory or warehouse for delivery to the consignee.

 5. CY to CY handover method. 
Refers to the transportation operator who accepts goods (full container cargo) at the terminal yard of the loading port or its inland yard, and is responsible for transporting it to the terminal yard or its inland yard of the unloading port, and delivers it to the consignee at the yard (Full container).

 6. CY to CFS handover method. 
Refers to the transport operator receiving goods (full containers) at the loading port’s terminal yard or its inland yard, and is responsible for transporting it to the unloading port’s container freight station, or its container freight station in the inland area, generally after dismantling After the box is delivered to the consignee.  

 7. CFS to Door transfer mode. 
   means that the transportation operator accepts the goods (after consolidation) at the container freight station of the loading port or its inland container freight station, and is responsible for transporting it to the consignee’s factory or warehouse for delivery. In this way of handover, transportation operators generally accept the goods in the form of LCL and deliver the goods in the form of FCL. 
 
8. CFS to CY handover method.  
  means that the transportation operator accepts the goods at the container freight station at the loading port terminal or its inland container freight station (after consolidation), and is responsible for transporting the goods to the unloading port terminal or the storage yard in the inland area. In this way, the delivery mode of goods is the same as the station-to-door delivery mode.  

9. Station to station (CFS to CFS) handover mode.
Refers to the transportation operator who accepts goods at the container freight station at the loading port terminal or the container freight station in the inland area (after LCL), and is responsible for transporting the cargo to the container freight station at the unloading port terminal or the container freight station in the inland area. Deliver to the consignee after unpacking. In this way, the delivery mode of goods is generally LCL delivery.  

  The above nine handover methods are the basic handover methods for container cargo in container transportation. Except for the loading dock yard (or the container freight station of the harbour terminal) to the unloading harbour terminal yard (or the unloading harbour terminal container freight station), the handover method is applicable to the single shipping method (including sea transshipment), other handover methods , Are the handover methods under the multimodal transportation of container cargo.
